All #'s are direct GPS readings, rounded to a reasonable # of decimal
places.

GPS provides geodetic (rather than geocentric) coordinates.
GPS uses WGS-84 which in turn references as sea-level the 
GRS80 reference ellipsoid. This ellipsoid was chosen to have same volume
as the "geoid" (the average position of actual sea-level on the Earth).
However the reference ellipsoid is a true and perfect ellipsoid with 
semi-major axis (at the equator) of 6378.1 km, and a semi-minor axis
(to the poles) of 6356.7 km.

For our calculations use R-earth=6380 km and assume a sphere.
1 degree latitude =111.352 km 
Assume Lat=34.000 degrees,  cosine(34.0)=0.8290375
1 degree longitude=92.315 km
1 meter approx 1E-5 degrees.
